Not since 2006 have we seen so much activity in the new home building marketplace throughout Pasco and Hernando Counties.
With housing making such an incredibly strong comeback, builders face a problem they have not seen in 8 years – the price of available land on which to build has been increasing rapidly. Also, the cost of building materials such as concrete, lumber, drywall and more are rising faster than new home prices can pace.
Assuming this trend will continue, new home buyers may be looking at their best window of opportunity.
Currently Pasco and Hernando Counties have extended the moratorium on impact fees for new construction in certain locations. This alone can equate to lower prices for new home buyers now and in the near future. This suspension of impact fees is scheduled to expire before the end of 2014.
